21 Old-Timey Candies You Probably Wouldn’t Like

2304
Odds are, if your granny liked them, you won’t.

1. Mary Jane Chews

Some think Mary Janes are the exact same as Bit—O—Honeys. Those people are wrong. Bit—O—Honey consists of almond bits embedded in a honey—flavored taffy. Mary Janes are a peanut butter and molasses flavored, taffy-like chew. Really, the only thing they have in common is that you would toss both of them in the trash whenever you got them Trick or Treating.

2. Chuckles

Jellied candies (that phrase alone is unappetizing) dusted with sugar and containing these flavors:

Cherry ””YES!
Lemon ””Meh.
Licorice ””NOT ON MY WATCH.
Orange ””Sure.
Lime ””Meh.

2 out of 5. Not a great flavor percentage.

3. Black Jack Gum

Dear Black Jack Gum,

Nobody likes you. Everybody hates you. You should just go eat worms.

Signed,

The World

4. Circus Peanuts

Circus Peanuts are just like clowns: No one likes them, no one knows anyone who likes them, yet they still exist to ruin our fun and torture our dreams. In fact, having to witness a clown eating Circus Peanuts might actually be the Fifth Circle of Hell.
